The House

A quiet workshop in old Kolkata.

Brotons began in 2024 with six artisans and a simple objection: menswear had stopped being made by hand. We work out of a narrow lane in Jorasanko, where embroidery has been a family trade for generations.

Each design is drawn, transferred to fabric, and then worked entirely by hand — satin stitch, French knots, sequin and pearl setting. Nothing is machine-punched.

Fit & Sizing

Built for every frame, honestly.

Most embroidered shirts stop at XL. Ours don't. Every design in the house is cut and embroidered from Small through 6XL, at the same price, with the motif re-scaled so it sits correctly on your chest.

  • Full size run: S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL, 6XL
  • Motif is re-proportioned per size, never simply enlarged
  • Free size exchange within 7 days of delivery
  • Complimentary alterations at our Kolkata studio
The Process

Four hands, nine days

From a pencil sketch to a finished shirt, nothing is automated.

Draw

Each motif starts as a hand drawing, sized against a real shirt panel so the composition sits where the eye lands.

Transfer

The outline is pricked and pounced onto the cut fabric — the same method used in this lane for four generations.

Embroider

Three to nine days at the frame. Satin stitch, French knots, sequin and pearl setting, all by a single artisan.

Finish

Shell buttons, French seams, a final press and a two-stage quality check before it is folded into tissue.

No One Left Out

Small to 6XL. Every single design.

Same price, same embroidery, same hands — whichever size you wear.

We cap most designs at a handful of pieces. It is not a marketing device — it is simply how many a person can stitch.

Word of Mouth

What men tell us

★★★★★

Wore it to a friend's reception and spent half the night explaining where it was from. The embroidery is genuinely raised — you can feel it.

I'm a 4XL and I have never once been able to buy something like this off a website. It fit properly the first time.

Ordered for my brother's sangeet. Arrived in nine days, folded in tissue, and the pearls were all hand-set. Worth the wait.

Good to Know

Before you order

Pieces are embroidered to order. We dispatch within 6 working days and delivery runs 8–11 working days depending on your pin code. You'll get a tracking link the moment it leaves the studio.

Tell us within 7 days of delivery and we'll arrange a free size exchange, subject to the shirt being unworn with tags intact. If you're close to Kolkata, we'll alter it at the studio at no charge.

Dry clean is safest for sequin and pearl work. For thread-only designs, hand wash cold, inside out, no wringing, and dry flat in shade. Iron on the reverse, never directly over the motif.

UPI, all major cards, net banking, and cash on delivery. Prepaid orders get 15% off with the code PREPAID15, applied at checkout.
